Job Summary/Basic Function
Middle Tennessee State University, Department of Aerospace is seeking qualified applicants for two clinical-track faculty positions (#106060, 120410) to serve as Assistant Chief Instructors at the University’s Part 141 Flight School. Rank of the positions will be at the level of assistant/associate professor. This is a 12- month appointment; therefore, start dates for the positions may begin at any time during the academic year. Positions contingent upon funding.
The successful candidates will be expected to provide flight instruction and related administrative support to students in the Professional Pilot concentration at the Flight School.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or closely related field by appointment date along with the required experience listed below.
Required Related Experience
Minimum 200 hours of dual flight instruction given
Required License/Registration/Certification
1) Commercial SEL and MEL certificate
2) Valid Certified Flight Instructor and Instrument Instructor certificate
3) Valid 2nd Class FAA Medical certificate
Other Desirables
Applicants who possess a Multi-engine Instructor Certificate, as will as those with higher than the minimum requirements of dual flight instruction given will receive special consideration.
