The successful candidate for this full-time,
tenure-track position will be responsible for teaching a full range of automotive courses which may include any or all ASE A-1 through A-8
areas of specialization, and to participate in the development of new courses. Additional responsibilities and duties include:

  • Adhere to all NATEF MAST and MLR Standards
  • Participate in automotive technology advisory committee meetings
  • Engage in
    institutional, program, degree, and course-level assessment
  • Participate in the College’s shared governance process
  • Professional development activities in the discipline
  • Service to the community at large

Teaching assignments may
include night and weekend assignments and teaching courses through on-line or other distance modalities.

Anticipated start date for
this position is Fall 2021.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Community College teaching experience
  • ASE Master
    Automotive Technician Certification
  • ASE Maintenance and Light Repair G-1 Certification
  • ASE L-1 Advanced Engine Performance
  • ASE Hybrid Electric Vehicle L-3 Certification

Education and Experience

requirement: Any bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of related professional experience, OR any associate’s
degree and six years of related professional experience.

Conditions of Employment

Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful clearance of a criminal
background check, pre-employment physical examination, freedom from tuberculosis, and proof of identity and eligibility to work in the
United States prior to the first day of work. The District may select additional qualified candidates should unexpected vacancies or needs
occur during the recruitment/selection process. When education is a requirement for the position, official academic transcripts from the
accredited college/university will be required.

College of the Redwoods Faculty Organization is the exclusive bargaining
representative for College of the Redwoods faculty employees. Each employee hired into a faculty position shall contribute to the
administration of this contract by membership dues or service fees.

Initial salary placement is determined by education and
teaching/professional experience. Refer to the CRFO Collective Bargaining Agreement for specific details on salary placement.


Medical, dental, and vision insurance is provided by the District for all full-time employees and their
dependents. Faculty also receive sick leave and personal holidays. Retirement benefits are administered through CalSTRS.
