The Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech
University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Information Systems beginning September 2021. The
position requires a Ph.D. in Information Systems or a closely related field. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Knowledge of cybersecurity, business intelligence, programming languages, and other IT-related topics is required. Priority will be given to
applicants with track records of publishing in top journals in Information Systems and related fields. This position will be filled subject
to final budget approval.
The standard teaching load for faculty at the Rawls College Business is 2-2. For assistant professors
hired directly from graduate school, the teaching load is typically 2-1 for the first three years. Summer support is usually also guaranteed
for the first three years. The successful applicant will be expected to teach courses in our IT undergraduate, M.S.-Data Science, and Ph.D.
and pursue research and publish in top journals. Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and
who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply.
Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable. Applicants will be expected to do
service. Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college,
and university is expected.
The ISQS area offers an IT undergraduate degree, a Master’s degree in Data Science, and a
Ph.D. degree. The college offers undergraduate, Master of Science (online and in-person), MBA (STEM, Professional, and Online), and Ph.D.
degrees. In addition to ISQS, the Rawls College has areas of Finance, Management, Marketing, and Energy Commerce, as well as a School of
Accountancy and a program in Health Organization Management. The Rawls College faculty have been well recognized for their research
achievements. The Rawls College of Business is located in a state-of-the-art building opened in 2012.
The business programs at
