The University of Texas at San Antonio is

Engineering Program at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites qualified applicants for a Tenure Track position at the
assistant or associate professor rank. We are particularly interested in applicants with a research emphasis in Materials application in
Energy and Petroleum engineering. Applicants are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate chemical engineering courses at all levels.
The successful hire will work closely with a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students, develop an externally and internally
funded research program, and build strong government and/or industrial research collaborations. The ideal candidate will be a highly
motivated self-starter, have excellent written and oral communications skills, be committed to interdisciplinary, cutting-edge research
across academic units, and demonstrate their ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population
and and support the University’s commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a model for student success. At the time of
hire, applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline. All applicants must have demonstrated research
success as evidenced by a strong record of scholarly publication. Applicants considered for the associate professor rank should have
demonstrated success in developing sustained and funded research programs. Candidates should have an exceptional track record in research
and/or teaching as well as scholarship. Experiences in academic program accreditation is also desired, but not required.

engineering schools in the nation. The Chemical Engineering Program at UTSA started in the Fall of 2017 with an undergraduate program. The
Chemical Engineering program is housed in the newly built, state-of-the-art Science and Engineering Building (SEB). Candidates will be
expected to play an active role in the development of the Chemical Engineering educational and research programs. The UTSA College of
Engineering consists of four departments (Biomedical Engineering and Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical
and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering) offering both undergraduate and graduate programs at all levels leading to Ph.D.
degrees. The college also offers Interdisciplinary M.S. Programs in Advanced Materials Engineering, Biomedical Technology Commercialization
and Advanced Manufacturing & Enterprise Engineering.
