Associate Professor, Business Technology Management, Haskayne School of Business


The Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary is seeking qualified candidates for one
position in Business Technology Management (BTM),previously Management Information Systems (MIS), at the rank of
Associate Professor (with Tenure). Anticipated starting date is July 1, 2021.

We are interested in candidates that
have their primary research area in the economics of IS with associated groups commonly known as WISE (Workshop on Information Systems and
Economics) and TEIS (Theory in the Economics of Information Systems); and/or in IS related to quantitative methods associated with part of
the group commonly known as WITS (Workshop on Information Technology Systems). An active research program that has led to publications in
the premier journals in information systems and allied fields is expected (e.g., University of Texas-Dallas 24 leading business journals
(UTD 24)). The BTM Area at Haskayne has a strong and demonstrated research excellence in the economics of IS and the IS interface with
quantitative methods. We require candidates with a WISE/TEIS/WITS research focus as well as teaching capabilities in data analytics and
artificial intelligence. The successful candidate is expected to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Applicants at the
Associate Professor rank must possess a doctoral degree in MIS or a closely related field and are currently a tenured Associate Professor or
senior Assistant Professor. They must provide evidence of past course development and teaching effectiveness in a professional faculty;
provide evidence that the individual holds or has held past editorial positions and is a scholar with at least three UTD 24 journal
publications; and provide evidence through working papers under review that they are likely to continue to make meaningful contributions to
their field.
