Sustainability at Southern Illinois University Carbondale seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor position in Environmental Geology.
This is a 9-month, continuing, tenure-track appointment starting on August 16, 2021.
Duties include the
following: teaching a mix of undergraduate and graduate courses, which may include introductory and advanced courses in
Hydrogeology, Geomorphology, courses in introductory geology, or other topics in the candidate’s area of expertise; service on M.S. and
Ph.D. student committees; maintaining an active and successful research program that includes external research support; and appropriate
in the Geosciences with an emphasis on water resources. All degree requirements must be met by August 15, 2021. Applicants must show
evidence of relevant teaching and research, including peer-reviewed publication. Applicants must have a professional record that establishes
their external funding history and/or potential.
- Post-doctoral experience.
- A focus on physical environmental science that can complement our existing strengths in environmental
geology, such as geochemistry and sedimentology and within the larger context of the School of Earth Systems and Sustainability.
