Full-time Faculty – Computer Aided Machinig

Lorain County Community College (LCCC) is seeking to fill a Temporary Full Time faculty position in the department of Technology of
Manufacturing Processes and Computer Aided Machining with the division of Engineering, Business and Information Technologies
(EBIT). LCCC is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative student-centered instructor who places student academic achievement and success
as top priorities. The position will focus on the areas of Manufacturing Processes which include manual machining and industrial
manufacturing processes in the machine industry, Computer Aided Machining (CAM), Manual CNC Programming, Software programming with
MasterCam, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), and other related areas involved with machining. Summer session teaching is optional. Optional
courses would be Tool & Die, Quality Assurance and Fluid Power. 

 Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
instructing students in correct operation of conventional mills, lathes, surface, grinders, drill presses, saws, and other common machine
shop equipment. The successful candidate must also have knowledge of common fabrication processes, outside manufacturing processes (welding,
heat treatment, coatings, fixturing, metal shaping, material identification), and measuring equipment. In addition, the candidate must be
able to instruct manual CNC programming in CNC Mills, CNC lathes, and software programming using MasterCam. Knowledge of set-up, operation,
fixturing, tooling, and maintenance on CNC mills and CNC lathes is required. In addition, CAD/solid modeling experience is required for
software programming of the CNC lathes and mills.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s
    degree in related field or Associates degree with significant industry experience and certifications.
  • Experience in the machining
    industry minimum 5 years.
  • Experience teaching laboratory classes
  • Ability to use modern educational technology such as
    multimedia-based instructions.
  • Availability to teach days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Proficient in operation of
    conventional mills, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, and other common machine shop equipment.
  • Proficient in manual CNC
    programming and CAM software programming for CNC Mills and CNC lathes. 
  • Experience in set up and operation of all listed
    equipment is required.
  • Knowledge of fabrication process, measuring equipment, tooling, industrial manufacturing processes, and
    conventional machining techniques.
  • Experience in CAD and parametric solid modeling


  • 3-5 years teaching in a higher education institution
  • Experience with Learning Management
