The Engineering Technology (ENGT) program at the Ohio University Lancaster campus invites
applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Visiting Professor position starting January 2, 2021.

The ENGT program provides students experiential learning in our applied learning laboratories with facilities at Ohio
University Lancaster and at the Fairfield Training Center and is well known for providing a balance of technical theory and applied hands-on
experiential education.

This position will provide instruction in two areas to meet full time status:

1. Part time instruction
in the ENGT program at Ohio University Lancaster.

This position is dual focused on technical skill
development and teaching in the primary areas of robotics, PLCs, electronics, micro-controllers.

The person in this position may also
teach one or more of the following: robotics and automation, PLCs, Motors and controls, AC and DC electronics, CNC
machining and programing, plastics, welding, depending on background and areas of expertise.

technician, plant maintenance technician, machining technician, quality technician, electromechanical technician

2. Part-time
advanced manufacturing trainer for Ohio University at the Fairfield Training Center (FTC).

This part of the
position will be focused on delivering instruction on robotics, PLCs, micro-controllers at the FTC. The person
will be credentialed or willing to become credentialed to train and provided certified industrial credentials to students signed up for
training at the FTC. In addition to training for industry recognized credentials the successful applicant will
also deliver various length training classes and full term course work at the FTC.


Candidates must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering Technology, Engineering, Industrial
Technology, or a closely related field, and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant industrial experience.


Preferred candidates to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering Technology, Engineering, Industrial
Technology, or a closely related field, and five or more years relevant industrial experience and two or more years relevant teaching and/or
training experience in the subject areas listed, and two or more years experience teaching online course

Work Schedule

Classes are typically scheduled between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. M-F (Some Saturday work).
The actual time (days and hours) at campus and the FTC will very based on the courses to be offered for the
semester. Typical teaching load includes five courses per semester which may include multiple lab sections. Course work will be balanced
based on amount of training time at the FTC which will occur each semester.
