Full-Time Faculty – Electrical Construction & Control Instructor
The purpose of this position is to provide basic, intermediate, and advanced training and assessment in
electrical principles and practices. This may include training in topics related to programmable logic controllers (PLCs), solid state
devices, and other advanced electrical concepts. This is accomplished by maintaining requisite office hours; providing academic advisement
to students; serving on college committees; attending meetings; participating in professional development activities; and performing all
instructional-related activities as directed within the policies, guidelines, and regulations of Northeast Community College.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in related field or an Associate’s Degree
from an accredited college.
A combination of license and/or certification at a Journeyman’s level or higher in the field is also
Required: Five full-time (or equivalent) years of verified, related
paid work experience as a licensed Journeyman or Master electrician in residential, commercial, and/or industrial setting.
Preferred: Three years of experience as a trainer/mentor within industry or an educator.

- Strong knowledge of electrical
principles and a profound knowledge of the National Electrical Code, wiring methods, and electrical safety.
- Verifiable skills in
programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other advanced electrical concepts.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products,
primarily Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and team building skills.
Salary and Benefits
Salary is based on the faculty salary schedule. This position is eligible for Northeast
Community College’s excellent fringe benefits package. Cash-in-lieu of Health Insurance may be available depending upon successful
candidate’s coverage enrollment.
Special Instructions to Applicants
Candidates selected for an
interview will be required to present a 10-15 minute teaching demonstration focusing on the subject matter of the position.
