The Department of Philosophy at Southern Illinois University Carbondale seeks applicants for a variable time,
term, non-tenure track faculty position beginning January 1, 2021 for the Spring 2021 semester. Academic rank is contingent on the degree
held. Renewal of the appointment is contingent on performance, curicular need, and budget.
Teach undergraduate Core course, “Peace, Law, and Justice” and/or
“Advanced Critical Thinking” (undergraduate), which prepares pre-law students for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT)
examination, spring semester; and/or “Philosophy of Law” (undergraduate/graduate), spring semester.
MA in Philosophy or related discipline, such as political theory or law.
For individuals holding the MA, the appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Lecturer.
ABD or PhD in Philosophy or related discipline. For individuals holding a doctoral degree, appointment will
be at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice. College-level teaching experience or demonstrated experience teaching logic are
