Manager of Search Engine Optimization


Summary

Manages search engine optimization (SEO) efforts for the university’s website including research,
monitoring, implementing, and reporting on organic website performance

Essential Job Functions

  • Develops
    and implements strategies, plans and initiatives to achieve website traffic and performance goals in the short and long term
  • Manages web content to achieve improved organic search performance for the university’s website properties utilizing various analytics
    and data visualization tools
  • Identifies content gaps and strategic SEO opportunities and collaborates with the content development
    team to develop and implement content marketing initiatives
  • Monitors user experience and implements website experience and
    conversion improvements using analytics tools and disseminates user experience results to marketing and admissions teams
  • Collaborates with digital marketing and the customer relationship management (CRM) teams to ensure website properties are structured to
    track key conversions, events, and goals
  • Keeps abreast of changes in the field to track trends and make recommendations for changes
    or updates to the department functions
  • Collaborates with various departments universitywide to identify key performance indicator’s
    (KPI), develop dashboards, and interpret metrics, to deliver data-driven recommendations
  • Performs ongoing keyword research
    including discovery and expansion of keyword opportunities
  • Collaborates with information technology on preparing, analyzing,
    prioritizing, and addressing areas for improvement identified in technical SEO audits
  • Conducts backlink analysis, opportunity
    identification, solicitation, and optimization
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required
Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Moderate amount of experience in search engine optimization,
    analytics, research, and reporting in higher education or other related experience 

Preferred
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in marketing, communications, information technology, user experience,
    website design, data analytics or a related field of study
  • Demonstrated experience using Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, MS
    Excel, PowerPoint and Tableau
  • Proven experience using SEO optimization tools
  • Experience with developing and delivering
    advanced KPI reporting on website performance
  • Experience with managing SEO on a complex web infrastructure with over 1 million
    pageviews per month
  • Knowledge of WCAG and ADA compliance standards
  • Experience using Cascade CMS
