Position Summary

The Program Manager, IT Controls is the
key technical resource to ensure policies are developed with IT and cybersecurity controls that fulfill the mission and goals of IT and the
Office of Information Security, including policy development and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The person in this role
must have strong knowledge of control frameworks such as the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), International
Organization of Standardization (ISO), Center for Internet Security (CIS), Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), and the Cloud
Security Alliance (CSA).

The Program Manager, IT Controls works directly with the Senior Director, Policy & Compliance and
under the guidance of the Associate VP Global CISO, to ensure alignment of priorities, and directives consistent with institutional and
NYU-IT goals, and overall vision of the Associate VP Global CISO; and, is responsible for building out a single repository and source of
truth for NYU Cybersecurity and IT Controls. In addition, the Program Manager, IT Controls works closely with the Program Director of Policy
Development and Compliance, other members of the NYU IT and Office of Information Security teams, and others throughout NYU. This role plans
for and collaborates with NYU-IT, and other IT teams within the schools and functional units across the organization. The Program Manager,
IT Controls is a technical specialist on identity and access controls, cloud security, application security, the systems development life
cycle and other cybersecurity topics pertinent to supporting a comprehensive Global Cybersecurity Program.

Reporting directly to
NYU’s Global CIO, the Associate VP Global Chief Information Security Officer leads the Office of Information Security (OIS) which is a high
performance and highly technical team charged with the responsibility of mitigating cyber risks, minimizing the likelihood of a breach, and
maintaining compliance with information security regulatory requirements for all of NYU.  OIS aims to evolve the maturity of the NYU
Information Security Program through people, process and technology while maintaining alignment with university initiatives, IT goals and
core beliefs.  OIS is made up of several functional areas including Operations Planning & Strategy, Security Architecture &
Engineering, IT Risk Management, Detect Response & Forensics, IT Policy & Compliance and Security Awareness & Outreach.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Information
Security, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related field

Required Experience:
7+ years in a technology related field and 5+ years in an information security related
field and 3+ years with specific cybersecurity and IT controls experience
