Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position

Oakland University’s Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE)
Department has an opening for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 15, 2021. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in
Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field. Applicants with background in all fields of Industrial and Systems
Engineering are encouraged to apply. More important than the specific area of research of the applicant is the ability to initiate and
sustain a strong externally funded research program.

The successful candidate will teach ISE courses related to their area of
expertise; establish a line of peer-reviewed and externally funded research; advance professional relationships with the industry; and,
provide service to the department, school, university, as well as professional organizations in their field. They will also support efforts
in student recruitment and retention, continuous academic program refinement, and new program development. Preference will be given to those
applicants that will have completed the Ph.D. by the appointment date. The position will remain open and applications will be accepted until

Oakland University is a nationally recognized doctoral research institution

18,000 students, with 3,000 students in the School of Engineering and Computer Science The ISE Dept. is in the university’s 130,000 square
foot, Engineering Center. The dept. offers a B.S.E. in ISE (ABET accredited in both IE and SE), M.S. in ISE, M.S. in Engineering Management,
M.S. in Systems Engineering and a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering.

The standard teaching load for engineering faculty is 2 courses
