University of California, San Diego (http://fmph.ucsd.edu) is committed to
academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and has occasional openings for temporary non-tenure track
lecturers (Unit 18) for Academic years 20/21 and 21/22.
The Public Health faculty, staff, and programs of Family Medicine and
Public Health will soon transfer to the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science, and appointment may be in the
new School. The School will have approximately 80 salaried faculty, over 150 staff, and be comprised of faculty coming from divisions of
Behavioral Medicine, Biostatistics & Bioinformatics, Epidemiology, Global Health, Health Policy, and Preventive Medicine. The Department
has strong collaborative research programs facilitated by Research Centers of Excellence focused on Wireless and Population Health Systems,
Health Promotion and Equity, Women’s Health, Tobacco Control, Cardiovascular Epidemiology and Prevention, and Integrative Health.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Public Health or a related field completed by the date of appointment or equivalent combination
of education and experience.
Candidates with prior research or practice experience relevant to the course(s) to which they are
applying to teach and/or prior college level teaching experience are preferred, experience can be as a teaching assistant.
Appointees must comply with Department / School and University instructions, deadlines and policies regarding course scheduling, and are
expected to be flexible with regards to the scheduling of their classes to accommodate the limited space availability for classrooms during
standard business hours. Public Health courses will be offered in person, remotely, or a combination thereof at the discretion and need of
the School or University. Appointments may be part or full time, for 1, 2, or 3 classes per quarter and 1, 2, or 3 quarters in duration in
an academic year. In the application, specify the courses or academic area(s) in which you are qualified to teach. We are especially
