The Iowa Flood Center seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral research scholar to join a research program within IIHR – Hydroscience
& Engineering and College of Engineering at the University of Iowa. The initial appointment is full-time for one year with the
possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and continued funding. Research will fall within the broad topics of
Environmental Informatics, and particular interest in information system development and web technologies. The research team is open to
individuals from other computer science and informatics backgrounds and encourages all qualified applicants to apply.

- Ph.D. in a relevant
- Established track record of developing open source software, projects, publications, or other activities
- 3+ years of
demonstrated expertise in full stack web development
designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs
- Experience with version control (e.g. git)
- Experience in developing, testing, and maintaining reliable and scalable web services
in developing, testing, and maintaining rich web experiences and intuitive user interfaces for domains with high volume data
in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, Keynote and other design tools
- Able to communicate concepts and designs through sketches,
wireframes, and prototypes
- Expertise with cloud services and agile development
- Proficient in relational databases (e.g.
