Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois invites applications for faculty in its highly ranked accounting department. The department seeks assistant, associate, or full professors in any area of accounting teaching and research, beginning Fall 2021.
Home to one of the world’s premier departments of accountancy, Gies College of Business offers a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Master of Accounting Science, Master of Science in Accountancy (both residential and online) and PhD in Accountancy. The fully online Master of Science in Accountancy (iMSA) delivers a flexible, high quality, CPA exam-ready curriculum to learners around world. Launched in 2017, the iMSA has grown to more than 400 students eager to learn the skills needed to make informed strategic decisions.
Gies Business is a recognized leader in the instruction and application of data analytics. The University of Illinois-Deloitte Foundation Center for Business Analytics, which is led and operated by Gies faculty, develops and provides analytics curriculum to accounting faculty, students, and industry professionals around the world.
Gies’ Department of Accountancy is separately accredited by AACSB, and the department’s faculty are regularly ranked No. 1 in the nation by the BYU Faculty Research Rankings. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels
- Tenure-track faculty are expected to conduct research in Accountancy
- Senior faculty are expected to provide leadership in the department, the university and in the Accountancy discipline.
- Candidates at advanced ranks must possess a PhD degree; candidates for assistant professor must possess or be near completion of a PhD degree.
- Candidates must have strong research as well as demonstrated teaching effectiveness and leadership potential commensurate with position sought.
SALARY: Salary will be commensurate with rank and experience.
PROPOSED STARTING DATE: June 16, 2021, July 16, 2021 or August 16, 2021.
