Position Summary:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Energy Processes invites with those with potential
for excellence in research and teaching to submit an application for consideration as an Assistant Professor. We are particularly looking
for those who specialize in in the areas of Cyber Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Autonomous and Unmanned Systems, Innovative Design and
Additive Manufacturing. This position is a continuing, tenure track, 9-month appointment to start August 16, 2021.

Duties and
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate mechanical engineering classes, advise
undergraduate and graduate students, and develop a strong externally funded research programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have, a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related area. Ph.D. candidates may be considered if all degree
requirements will be completed by August 15, 2021. If all requirements for the Ph.D. are not completed by that date, a term, non-tenure
track appointment may be offered in accordance with University policy ( Applications in all fields of Mechanical
Engineering will be entertained. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Applicants must have teaching competency in
several required courses at the undergraduate level in mechanical engineering, and must have the potential to develop a strong publication
record by publishing in refereed journals and participating in national and international conferences.

Preference will be given to candidates with a specialization in the areas of Cyber Manufacturing, Mechatronics,
Autonomous and Unmanned Systems, Innovative Design and Additive Manufacturing.
