Public Health Faculty
Dillard University, classified by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education as a balanced
arts and sciences/professions institution, located in the culturally rich and diverse city of New Orleans, Louisiana, invites qualified
applicants to apply for the position of Assistant Professor or Instructor of Public Health in the School of Health and Wellness.
This position is a one year full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor or Instructor of
Public Health for the 2020-2021 academic year. The appointment is effective on January 4, 2021. The successful candidate reports to the
Chair of the School of Health and Wellness.
A Ph.D. (preferred) or master’s degree in
Public Health. Concentration in Epidemiology (preferred).
The candidate should have a
strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and academic advising of students. Ideal candidates must be able
to teach epidemiology, research methods, data analysis, community and environmental health, health systems management, social determinants
of health, global health, needs assessment, program planning and evaluation, and health policy. The candidate is expected to use creative,
innovative, and technologically-appropriate approaches to engage students in learning content. Candidates should possess the ability to
instruct classes using face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online modalities.
Other responsibilities include assisting in the development
of curriculum, and participating in service activities to support the University, community, and profession. The successful applicant may
also collaborate with other faculty members in conducting interdisciplinary research and engage students in conducting undergraduate
Full-time faculty members teach 12-15 hours per semester, must hold six (6) office hours per week, and maybe assigned
additional teaching responsibilities and duties at the discretion of the program coordinator, school chair, college dean, or Vice President
for Academic Affairs.
