Teach diesel technology courses, supervise students in the laboratory, and perform
other program duties as assigned.

Other duties include academic advising, internal service (committees, attendance and participation
at meetings), educational leadership, professional development, and external service in the community.


Minimum Requirements: Associate Degree in a related field and four years of recent work
experience in Medium/Heavy Truck Field. Must have or acquire ASE certification for Medium/Heavy Truck: brakes, motors, steering and
suspension, drive train, within the first semester of teaching. Must become Master Medium/Heavy truck certified within the first year of

Preferred Qualifications: BS Degree in a related field and six years of work experience in Medium/Heavy Truck field.
Master ASE certified in Medium/Heavy Truck.

Somerset Community College (SCC) is one of 16
two-year colleges in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). SCC offers classes at six convenient campus locations.
