Tenure-Track Position in Management Information Systems


The College of Business at Michigan Technological University invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in
the area of Management Information Systems (MIS) with an anticipated starting date of no later than August 2021. Candidates in all areas of
specialization are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be able to teach several different MIS courses, such as Intro to MIS, Systems
Analysis and Design, Database, Business Intelligence, etc. The Department is particularly interested in applicants with a background in data
analytics and/or enterprise systems.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a vigorous, nationally
visible research program as well as contribute effectively to both undergraduate and graduate teaching, and provide service to the college
and university. The prospective candidate will support a student-centric, learner-oriented, experiential approach to instruction. The ideal
candidate should also have broad teaching interests. Preference will be given to candidates who provide evidence of high quality research
and teaching experience. Candidates with research interests that align with one or more of Michigan Tech’s research centers are
preferred. Candidates should also consider how their research interests align with or complement the research interests of current faculty
in the College of Business. Candidates must be ABD or possess a PhD in Management Information Systems, or a comparable discipline,
preferably from an AACSB accredited school.
