Assistant Professor, Information Systems (Cybersecurity)


The SIUE School of Business is seeking to fill a tenure-eligible Assistant Professor faculty position in information systems, with research and teaching specialization in Cybersecurity. Candidates will also be expected to teach in one or more of the following areas: Business Analytics, Information Systems Project Management, or Systems Analysis & Design. Preference may be given to candidates with at least two years of industry experience in information systems. The Department of CMIS provides instruction within the School of Business in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (with 2 specializations in CIS and Cybersecurity), Master of Science in CMIS (MS CMIS), Business Analytics and Project Management specializations in the MS CMIS, Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics, and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The curriculum includes a full range of computing courses and is supported by state-of-the-art computer software and hardware technology.

Candidates for this position should embrace the Teacher-Scholar model, and will be expected to be student-centered, demonstrate a commitment to promoting experiential learning, and embrace online and blended education models. SIUE is committed to the creation and dissemination of knowledge and as such, candidates must be prepared to pursue externally sponsored research and creative activities, engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, and to guide students in scholarly activities when possible.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold an earned doctorate in information systems or a closely related field (preference will be given to graduates from an AACSB accredited business school); ABD’s nearing completion will be considered. Candidates must be qualified to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and possess a research record or potential commensurate with position rank. A commitment to top-quality research, teaching, and service is required.
