Assistant Professor of Instruction
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of The University of Texas at El
Paso (UTEP) invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Instruction position to begin in fall 2021. This is a non-tenure-track
faculty position primarily engaged in instruction. The position is full-time and benefits eligible. The appointment is for one academic year
with the possibility of renewal contingent upon performance, departmental needs, and university funding.

ABOUT THE ECE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UTEP (http://ece.utep.edu) offers an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
degree, a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master of Science in Computer Engineering, and a Ph.D. degree in
Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Department has an enrollment of over 600 undergraduate and over 80 graduate students (M.S. and
Ph.D. students). The ECE faculty are actively involved in sponsored research with annual expenditures of more than $3 million. Research
activities are carried out in multiple research laboratories at the Department and at research centers in the College and the University.

SALARY: Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. in electrical/computer engineering or a related field with at least two years of teaching experience in
post-secondary education. Applicants with degrees outside Electrical or Computer Engineering are required a minimum of 18 credits of
graduate-level course work in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering. Commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. Demonstrated
commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in academia. Excellent communication skills are required.
