The Machining Assistant will work in the Florida Tech machine shop to support undergraduate and graduate student training and fabrication.
This entails working with full time staff and student employees to deliver curriculum for designed to train users on machining equipment
like mills, lathes, drill press, band saws, grinders, etc. The Machining Assistant will also fabricate parts for internal and external
projects. This is a part-time position for up to 20 hours per week.

Duties:

  • Hands on machining training
    for machine shop users
  • Machining parts for research and student projects
  • Prepping materials and coursework for hands on
    teaching
  • Grading online material for hands on training
  • Other duties to support the machine shop as
    assigned

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 0–2 years of relevant work
    experience required

* Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human
Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and
translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential
Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES). Required certification or license must be uploaded when submitting application for employment.
