Position Summary:

The College of Engineering, Management, and Technology at Oregon Tech is seeking applications for an academic full-time, multi-year, renewable faculty Instructor position in the Department of Computer Systems Engineering Technology (CSET). Annual appointment renewal of up to three years will be based upon satisfactory performance review, staffing needs, and funding. Rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The primary duties for this position is in the instruction of our students. Advising is also a key element of this position. Computer Systems Engineering Technology (CSET) is a student-centric department focused primarily on teaching. Faculty are responsible for teaching both their classes and any associated labs. This dynamic learning environment is one aspect that attracts students to our programs but is also one of the many reasons so many of our faculty have elected to stay here for so long.

Candidates must have a strong desire to teach and possess the ability to teach courses from Digital Logic through upper-division courses. Specific areas of expertise that are preferred (but not required) include: Embedded C, Assembly Language, Microprocessors, Digital System Design, Computer Organization, Architecture, and Sensors and I/O. Other skills such as testing and verification using HDL or System on a Chip Design would also be desirable.

Additional Requirement:

  • Master’s degree in related field.

Preferred Requirements:

  • PhD in related field.
  • Experience teaching in higher education.
  • Two years relevant industrial experience.
