In the first year, the faculty member would work with the Dean to develop the Creative Technologies
program. This first year would include 1) course development including syllabi construction, academic textbooks and intellectual sources
selection, and design of necessary lab/skill work with a makerspace environment; 2) determine physical layout of creative technologies
labs/makerspace and purchase appropriate equipment; and 3) work with the admissions office in the recruitment of students.
the program launches in the second year, the faculty member would settle into a more traditional faculty role and teach the necessary
courses required for the program; direct, assess, and evaluate the learning experiences of the students along with the assessing the
effectiveness of creative technologies program, and provide service to the university through committee work, maintaining partnership with
industry, and research.

Oakland City University is a
private, Christian university located in southwest Indiana. Our 1,200 students study in two educational enterprises: Campus and Adult
Professional Programs. The Creative Technologies program is part of our campus enterprise and it administered on the main campus in Oakland
City, Indiana. The main campus has 500 undergraduate students and 150 graduate students. This faculty position would be the CREATOR of the
Creative Technologies program. Modelled off a similar program at Berry College in Rome, Georgia, the program at OCU synthesizes
technological knowledge and skills with the liberal arts culture of the university. It will be a GROUNDBREAKING experience for both the
faculty member and the university. Below is a conceptional framework of the program. Our students will enter the program with little to no
knowledge of technology, coding, or technical skills; therefore, the task will be challenging. The new faculty member will be able to
construct a creative technologies lab/makerspace from scratch with the funds made available through Toyota of Indiana, located 15 miles from
the university. Toyota of Indiana is an active partner with this program and the faculty member will be involved in that partnership with
Starting salary for the position will range from $55,000 – $65,000 depending on credentials and experience.
