Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering

The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) invites applications for a tenure-track
faculty appointment starting as early as Fall 2021 at the rank of Assistant Professor in all fields of electrical engineering. The ECE
department has recently relocated to a brand new building, Hopper Hall. The building, named after Grace Hopper, a pioneering computer
scientist and U.S. Navy rear admiral, houses state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, including an anechoic chamber and a
cleanroom. USNA is dedicated to the goal of building a culturally diverse faculty committed to teaching and working in a diverse

Successful candidates will have expertise in a conventional electrical engineering field, such as communications,
control systems, electronic materials & devices, photonics & optics, power & energy, RF & microwave, and signal processing & data science,
or in interdisciplinary fields, such as quantum engineering, electronic warfare, machine learning, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
They will develop a robust research program and mentor students. They will teach existing electrical engineering undergraduate courses, as
well as develop new courses in line with their professional research. They will have a commitment to institutional service.

This is a
10-month federal excepted service position with a three year initial academic appointment. Salary for this position will be commensurate
with experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Electrical
Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or other related disciplines is required (anticipated completion of Ph.D. requirements
no later than June 2021 is acceptable).
Successful candidates must have established or exhibit potential to establish a sustained
research program and must be committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
